LoJack Presents Anti-Theft System for Hybrids

A LoJack is, as you might already know, a transmitter hidden in your vehicle that helps the police track and recover your stolen property, whether it’s a truck, car, motorcycle or trailer.

The LoJack systems get their power from your car’s or truck’s battery in order ti be able to send their signal. If we’re talking about a traditional vehicle that is used regularly, the amount of current the LoJack needs is negligible.

Despite their huge batteries, when it comes to hybrid cars, every amount of energy counts. The numerous system based on electricity make it hard for the hybrid to be able sustain a LoJack device. And in last year’s IIHS study, Toyota Prius was on the 8th place in the “Most Stolen Cars Top Ten.”

LoJack Company is determined to help you get you stolen hybrid back, in case that happens, so it introduced a self-powered system that includes a proprietary energy supply. The company hasn't offered all the details yet, but there’s a good chance it’s going to be a re-engineered version of the LoJack for Trailers, which also comes with it's own battery. The trailer system battery lasts for five years and we'd assume the auto version would be good for at least that long.

When it comes to protecting your investment, LoJack could be the answer, as thieves can’t find it and thick walls can’t stop it. So as long as the police will act fast enough, you’ll be getting a good night sleep. No worries here.
