Have you ever considered one of the main benefits of having a restomod vehicle? It's the "safe" feeling you get, knowing that there is little to no chance of something breaking on your car, allowing you to enjoy the drive and get to your destination in one piece. Having that kind of safety does come at a hefty price, but the result is nothing short of perfection.
Joey Logano has been living the dream for more than a decade now, and it was only natural that he'd have a few very exciting vehicles in his garage at home too. In the newest episode of his series, that's called "Carography", Joey gives us a tour of his 1956 Ford Delivery Truck, a 60+ years old vehicle that can still keep up with brand new cars when it comes to the cool factor.
The idea behind this project was quite simple, as Joey seems to have figured out how you can actually be happy with your fast cars: "Everything is like driving a brand new car. So if you want to go to the mountains, if you want to go to the beach, you're not scared to take this 4-5 hours up the road and cruise around and not get worried about sitting on the side of the road. That to me is a lot of fun"
So reliability was one of the main concerns, but that doesn't mean that more horsepower is out of the question. "You know me, I like stuff to look good, but even more important I want it to go fast", said Joey, as he reveals the Shelby secret found in the engine bay. This 1956 Ford Delivery Truck now has a Shelby GT500 drivetrain, complete with 700, lag-free, supercharged, horsepower. Joey did have to get a custom Recaro seat so he could fit in though.
We get a full tour of the truck throughout the video, and finally, Joey lets her rip in what seems to be his back yard. "Everyone knows a happy tire is a squealing tire so let's go have some fun." Ken Block himself would most likely approve of Joey's thundering donuts, and we're happy that it isn't just a show car that ends up not being driven.
