Live Luggage Launches Electrically-Powered Suitcase

Hardly did we imagine a future where our luggage could be electrically-powered and walk all by itself to the airport. However, technology and mankind's inventiveness continually shows us we have not yet seen everything.

A recent article on gizmag.com reports that after launching the world's first power assisted suitcase last year, Live Luggage is now introducing its new Hybrid PA Bag. It's not walking by itself to the airport but it is surely extremely easy to carry when the weight of your luggage exceeds your carrying-capacities.

The Hybrid PA Bag features Live Luggage’s extendable “anti-gravity” handle that pivots away from the case and height can be adjusted for user-comfort. In addition, the new Live Luggage suitcase is robustly built on a lightweight, super-strong frame with a tough, PC ABS body. The front of the suitcase is made of ultra-light and yet durable nylon which passed rigorous tests before being approved.

More importantly, the wheels are powered by a rechargeable 12V NiMH (nickel metal hydride) battery. Depending on the situation and on the weight of the luggage, the suitcase determines exactly how much power is needed and therefore, the battery is quite efficient resulting in a range of up to 1.5 miles. In fact, batteries can be quickly recharged.

However, if you happen to run out of battery, there's no reason to panic: because of its anti-gravity handle, you can carry the case much easier than in traditional luggage cases.

Nothing has been announced about the weight the Hybrid PA Bag is able to support, but we do know it includes a laptop case and overnight travel bag which can both be separately removed to match the differing check-in requirements of the world’s airlines.

Now, the only problem we see about this interesting case apart from its spicy price ($955) would be the cash you will have to pay at the airport for the extra luggage you're carrying.
