Talking about Liuzzi, the Spaniard argued he's a great talent and should be given more time to develop into a top racer.
“Italy has always produced excellent drivers in the past. Jarno Trulli and Giancarlo Fisichella, for example, are both incredibly talented,” said Alonso, according to formula.hu. “And as far as Tonio is concerned, he is developing. He's a great talent. But he's perhaps not yet had the opportunity to drive a car to allow him to maximise it.”
In a recent interview with the BBC, Force India team owner Vijay Mallya said that “there are some legal loose ends to be tied up” before he can disclose the 2011 drivers lineup, leading to speculation that Liuzzi will be asked to leave the squad despite the fact that his current contract doesn't expire until the end of 2011.
“My situation is clear,” insisted Liuzzi, former Formula 3000 champion, according to 422race.com. “Force India hasn't informed me about any change and, for me, only the words of the team count. I'm pretty calm, because I have a very clear deal with the team for the 2011 season and, if they should decide to take other routes, they know what they are facing.”
