Lito Green Motion Presents Sora

It’s quite obvious that the future is green and we are living the last days of petrol powered machines, and Lito Green Motion seems to be heading that way too.

The manufacturer presented a revolutionary electric bike that will make its debut at the Montreal F1 Grand Prix on June 12. The name of the bike is Sora and, according to the manufacturer, it has a mileage of 185 miles (298 km).

Sora features some amazing characteristics, such as the position electric seat that can be adjusted in height. The powerplant is a liquid-cooled 3-phase AC induction electric motor and, with the help of the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), the bike manages to accelerate clutchless from 0 up to its maximum speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). The acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes about 4 seconds and the maximum torque level is 59 lb-ft (80 Nm).

An aluminum frame sustains a 12 kWh lithium-polymer battery that can be fully charged in 8 hours. With the help of a bodywork made out of carbon fibre, the whole bike weighs just 529 pounds (240 kg).

The bike incorporates a Safe Range System that monitors how charged your battery is, in order to increase the mileage as possible. This has a downside though, as the system cuts power and that translates into poor performance. There is no need to worry though, because two driving modes are available: eco mode for maximum range and performance mode for full speed getaways.

The touch screen display features a GPS system to get you anywhere you desire. And in addition to its performance, high-end suspension and brake components assures the bike is safe.

The bike will have a starting price of $44,080 (EUR30,465) and deliveries are expected to start in October 2011.
