Lithium Cycles Super 73 Is Mad Max' Post-Apocalyptic Pedelec

"Blast from the past" is one of the best terms to describe the Lithium Cycles' Super 73 pedelec. Even though we're not sure if Mad Max would have swapped his gas-powered bike with an electric one, we're positive that he would have at least kept the Super 73 as a leisure machine.

Super 73 is an all-rounder, all-terrain electric bicycle that epitomizes the "less is more" philosophy, retaining practicality and cool looks. For the latter, some might raise certain objections, as not everyone is a fan of such machines.

However, considering the light weight of the Super 73 and its great terrainability offered by the 20" wheels, we'd rather go for function instead of form. Dubbed a bicycle with electric pedal assistance, the Lithium Cycles Super 73 does indeed boast a lot of motorcycle DNA.

The beefy tires, the powder-coated steel frame, and the seat spear "motorcyclish", for sure, yet the Super 73 can be anybody's fav machine. Equipped with a 1,000W mid-mounted motor, that is fed by a lithium-ion battery that can offer a 20-mile (32 km) range.

The 10 Ah power pack takes 4 hours for a full recharge, and it can be easily removed from the bike. The keyed lock is as simple as it gets, and the Super 73 also comes wit a U-lock for the bike.

Lithium Cycles endowed their Super 73 with a 5-way pedal assist system, an easy-to-read intuitive LCD dash, cup/bottle holder and bottle opener, and a USB port for recharging mobiles on the go. At 65 lb (29.4 kg), the Super 73 is not the lightest pedelec in the world, but we're totally okay with that.

Cue a thumb throttle, rear and front disc brakes, an LED headlight for an early bird of $1,899 (€1,670) plus shipping. The retail price envisaged is $2,999 (€2,640), but you still have three weeks (at the time of writing to get the discounted ones).

The Lithium Cycles Super 73 project was completely funded, so the bikes should be rolling this October.
