Early at the beginning of the year, Jaguar tuner Lister announced the introduction of the Thunder, a Jaguar F-Type morphed into a monster of a vehicle.
So big was the impact of the car when it was made available for purchase, that Lister announced 22 of the 99 units ever to be produced sold in one day alone.
As the official delivery date approaches – the first customer is expected to get it on October 1st – all those who paid a deposit for it will be unhappy to learn they will not be buying a Thunder, but an LFT-666.
This is the new name of the car, announced by the company on Wednesday. Lister justifies its decision on the fact that Thunder was only the name of the prototype, and for the sake of “future model lineage” all 99 cars will be called LFT-666.
LFT stands for Lister F-Type, of course, and the number in the name represented the amount of brake horsepower generated by the heavily tuned 5.0-liter, eight cylinders engine.
Since its presentation at the beginning of the year, said Lister, the model has suffered some other modifications as well. The biggest of them all is the use of exclusive carbon fiber body panels to replace the existing glass-reinforced plastic parts.
By using these panels, as well as the same material for several other elements of the car’s body, Lister says it managed to bring the weight of the car down to an unspecified value and make for a more aerodynamic vehicle..
Additional tweaks to the suspension and on the interior have also been done.
When it was announced, the new Lister carried a price tag of £139,950. That does not include a whole range of additional tweaks that can be made. In the document attached below you can find the entire list of options and pricing for the LFT-666, as provided by Lister.
