Listen to a Horde of AMG Models

This year is very important for AMG and for AMG fans alike for a number of reasons, but by far the most important one is the imminent death of a downright legendary engine – the fabulous M156/M159.

With a displacement of 6.2 liters and naturally-aspirated, the M156/M156 family of eight-cylinders has been offering different levels of performance since it was introduced back in 2006, with anything from 457 to 631 hp available depending on the state of tune or the model it was shoehorned in.

The M159 in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, for example, is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine in the world when it comes to road-going applications, so that pretty much says it all.

Not sharing a single element with any other Mercedes-Benz engine, the M156/M159 is the first project designed and manufactured from the ground up by AMG in Affalterbach, and its racing pedigree transpires through every pore of those eight cylinders.

Its epicness cannot be measured in words though, but in decibels, and the following video is a rather snarling piece of evidence for this statement. Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy a symphony of exploding gasoline from this Group 63 AMG gathering.
