Lindab Exec Becomes Saab CFO

Currently caught in a reorganization effort, Swedish manufacturer Saab announced today the appointment of a new CFO. The position will be filled by Nils-Johan Andersson, currently a Lindab Group executive, replacing the current man in charge with the auto maker's finances, Karl G Lindstrom, the interim CFO.

When he comes to Saab, Andersson will bring with him 20 years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning, accounting and executive management. His task, far from being easy, will be to turn around the auto maker which came so close to its demise while still under GM ownership.

“I am delighted to welcome Nils-Johan to our senior management team. His experience and skills will be great assets to Saab Automobile as we continue to establish ourselves as a successful independent company,” said Saab CEO Jan Ake Jonsson.

“We wish Karl all the best and thank him for his contributions during his time with Saab Automobile”

Throughout 2010, Saab has been losing money, both its own and its new owner's Spyker. The ones who saved the Swedish manufacturer from the pit of oblivion last year don't plan to get back in the black before 2012, so for Andersson the main tasks ahead will be damage control and a smooth growth.

With a newly organized sales structure, Saab is getting ready for its busiest year in history in terms of new model launches.

The first model to be presented this year by Saab is the 9-5 SportCombi, which will be introduced alongside at least three other novelties, including a concept, during the 2010 Geneva Auto Show in March.
