Lincoln Working on MKC Crossover

The Lincoln MKZ might only be the size of a Fusion sedan, but it looks like the FoMoCo sub-brand is going to stop pushing those wheelbases and is going to instead focus on a volume car. The company has only just managed to sell more cars than Scion and is trailing behind Infiniti.

There’s no way to address this problem with a rival for the Cadillac XTS or any such large flagship model, so instead Lincoln will focus first on offering a crossover, according to a report from Autonews.

In about a year or so, Lincoln will be offering an affordable entry model to the luxury crossover segment. It will be called the MKC, and chances are the architecture will be that of the 2013 Ford Escape, also known as the Kuga in overseas markets.

This means the Lincoln crossover will offer a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and potentially also a 1.6-liter EcoBoost, which isn’t available on any Lincoln.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
