Lincoln Removing Controversial Waterfall Grille

New design to be more elegant 1 photo

Whether people like it or not, Ford’s line of Lincoln models are instantly recognizable mainly due to their prominent waterfall grille, which dominates the whole front. However, the brand needs to distance itself from the rest of the Blue Oval range, and a major part of this is replacing the grille with something more subtle.
Inside sources have told AutoWeek that the updated MKS sedan and MKT crossover will both debut the new look. The new grille with reportedly be ‘more elegant’ and ‘not as pronounced’ as the waterfall version.

We have no idea what’s in stall, as there have not been any spyshots to show the new design, but both the MKS and MKT might be heading for an official debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

"Lincoln's goal is to become world class," says Christian Bokich, a Lincoln spokesman. "So we know our current products will continue to evolve."
