There's nothing quite like a Lincoln SUV. All of them now look basically the same while also cutting a distinct shape, a picture of American opulence you can't get from any other brand.
The new for 2018 Navigator is no different. And while it still shares its platform with the Ford Expedition, it's more assertive and high-tech than its sibling. Lincoln commercials have also been very good at portraying the SUV that fits perfectly into your lifestyle, adding a layer of insulation between you and stress, the bad weather or bad drivers on the road.
The new Navigator's interior is nothing short of amazing, probably the main reason for buying this SUV over something German or British. Lincoln's leather colors are nothing short of unique, while the wood or metal inlays add to the nautical theme. Its seats feel heavy and have seemingly infinite levels of adjustment.
With up to eight seats and available powered running boards, this SUV is ideal for carrying a load of eight adults. Moving all that luxury and fine folks is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo, eco-boosted to deliver 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. But what if you don't care about any of that, what if you want the craziest Lincoln Navigator on the planet?
You could strip out the V6 and all that luxury to make something like this, a creation of designer Basil Masri. The already massive SUV has received gigantic new wings and enough rubber for a fleet of F1 cars. At the front, the giant air splitter looks like it can add downforce and plow snow at the same time.
Naturally, a lowered SUV with a wing the size of an airplane can only race at Pike's Peak. Land Rover, Bentley, Audi and Acura have all let their 4x4 play in that park, but never with such aero. This rendering goes a step beyond by having a mid-mounted supercharged 427 LSX, supposedly making 1,420 horsepower and sucking up air through the roof.
