According to a new report coming out of Detroit, Lincoln has a brand new entry-level crossover on the way, one which could be shown as early as next month’s North American International Auto Show in mid-January.
The model will be cheaper and smaller than the MKX, which was refreshed almost three years ago. It will likely based on the new Ford Escape global platform and share the same engines. The styling is likely to be shared with the MKZ sedan, which is their latest product.
This means the Lincoln crossover will offer a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and potentially also a 1.6-liter EcoBoost, which isn’t available on any Lincoln right now. All wheel drive should be optionally available.
The MKC will be a cheaper, volume car that is desperately needed for the revival of the Lincoln brand.
