There aren't that many true rivals for the Lincoln Navigator out there, yet at the moment, it feels like the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is enough to keep it on its pretty big toes.
The GM full-size luxury SUV has never been a more tempting proposition, and even though the current generation of the Navigator isn't that old - it was introduced only two years ago - it's enough to make it feel just a tiny bit outdated.
Still, passions run high around these models, and you're probably more likely to see Vladimir Putin running for U.S. presidency than to witness a lifetime Navigator owner switch to Escalade. But these two aren't exactly alone: Jeep is preparing the Wagoneer and, if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of space, there are also a few European options as well, such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class or the BMW X7.
If there's a gap, Lincoln is definitely not going to fill it with only a few trinkets, but anything that can make the model more appealing is still a plus, so why not? Case in point, the Black Label Special Edition Package that will make its debut on the 2021 Lincoln Navigator.
The new option builds on the success of the Reserve Monochromatic Package that can be had on any of the brand's 2021 SUV models, except this one is exclusive to the Navigator. It includes a black roof, black mesh grille, 22-inch 12-spoke black (you can notice a pattern emerging here) aluminum wheels, black side-view mirror caps, and a black spoiler.
“The unique black roof coupled with additional monochromatic elements emphasize the strong lines of the Navigator, giving it an even more dramatic look and greater presence on the road,” said Earl Lucas, Lincoln exterior chief designer. “Black is a great partner to almost any color, providing a brighter appearance and more contrast – this makes Navigator really stand out.”
Speaking of colors, the new package can be had with any of these six exterior paint choices: Pristine White, Chroma Crystal Blue, Silver Radiance, Chroma Molten Gold, Burgundy Velvet, and Lincoln’s signature color, Flight Blue.
Lincoln Motor Company did not reveal any information surrounding the price for this newly released package, so we guess it's on an ask to know basis. Have a look at the photo gallery and make up your mind if the Black Label Special Edition Package is for you or not.
