Ford’s Luxury division has created the 2016 MKX to fight the likes of the Cadillac SRX, Lexus RX and the Infiniti QX70, but can they do it without the help of the Interstellar star? Apparently the answer to this question is a straightforward “no”. After all, the actor’s MKC advertorials have raised sales to an impressive number so we can’t see what the problem is here.
The Oscar-winning actor is not just one of the most talented actors Hollywood is currently sheltering, but it appears he is also quite good at promoting cars. The Detroit Free Press claims Matthew McConaughey will appear in new Lincoln ads that will promote the company’s 2016 MKX, and we find their decision more than wise, to be honest.

The Dallas Buyers Club star will continue to be the face of Ford’s luxury brand in a new campaign that will kick off September 12, and broadcast plans include National Football League games. There’s a different tone this time, however, as John Emmert, group marketing manager for the automaker, told the source “they are not as introspective. They dial up the swagger factor.”

Again, last time we checked McConaughey’s additions to Lincoln MKC we found sales have increased by 25% a month starting last September when the first ad aired on telly. Alright, alright, alright - is what we can almost hear the inner petrolhead saying. Enough with the marketing talks, though, let us look at the car in question for a change.

The second generation MKX was revealed as a concept vehicle in Beijing, last year. Wow, times goes by so fast, don’t they? Nevertheless, fall is the season when this mid-size, five-seater crossover will hit the stores although it won’t be there for the entire world.

The price is very likely to be similar to what the 2015 Lincoln MKX starts at, which is $38,000. However, things may vary, of course, depending on the market especially that this model is targeted at North America and China, with some sales in the Middle East and South Korea.
