When you think of Lincoln, Matthew McConaughey might be the last actor you would imagine being a pitchman for the luxury brand, but that’s probably about to change. Not only is Ford’s luxury division sparking a brand rejuvenation starting with new products like the all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC, but it has also tapped McConaughey to be the face of the automaker with the “Live in Your Moment” campaign kicking off September 6th.
That is when the first of spots will begin airing on television with a unique storytelling style as probably only McConaughey could do it aiming to give viewers a feeling of authenticity by talking directly to the camera. These initials videos – ‘Intro’, ‘I Just Liked It’ and ‘Bull’ – were filmed McConaughey’s home state of Texas, and they have the typical rambling, slow dialogue we’ve come to expect from McConaughey. Prety much, if you are a fan of McConaughey in True Detective, you will probably appreciate this new campaign.

“In these commercials, Matthew is helping us introduce Lincoln’s next chapter of luxury with MKC. Lincoln MKC is extremely important for our brand. It’s our first-ever small premium utility vehicle and Lincoln’s initial entry into the fastest-growing automotive segment,” said Matt VanDyke, director, global Lincoln.

The 2015 Lincoln MKC went on sale in June, and in its first three months on the market, Ford has sold 4,655 of the compact crossover. As part of the multi-year deal, these McConaughey videos will be seen on television, online and through social media. Check out the first three videos below.
