Lily Allen Is Broke, Sells Her BMW

Although it might be hard to believe at first sight, but it seems that the credit crunch has started to hit celebs equally. Well, at least, those celebs who made irrational expenses last year.

According to the Mirror, one star affected by the global recession is singer Lily Allen who officially explained that she was broke. And because the banks refused to lend her any money, the 23-year-old singer had to sell her £35,000 BMW 320 convertible.

“I’ve been hit big time by the credit crunch. Actually, I just had to sell my car because I’m so broke," she confessed. “I’m completely skint. I can’t even spend on credit cards. I mean, I won’t be, as I’m waiting until I get the royalties from the album and all the radio plays but that takes about a year," she added.

More importantly, she admits she has spent her money on extravagant things last year.

“I bought a car last year and that was probably my biggest extravagance. Clothes too, I’m always buying clothes.”

What's more, despite the fact that she has sold millions of records all over the world, Lily confessed music won't be her priority for too long. In fact, she is aware of the fact that her career is not to last forever, so she has a back-up solution in case she quits singing.

“I’m really enjoying my life but if it lasts, it lasts, and if it doesn’t I’ll find something else. There’s always a cake shop. I really like baking,’’ she said.

However, we think her backup plan just has to wait for a while as her second album "It's not me, it's you" released in the UK on February 9, 2009, already enjoyed a great success.
