Lighting a Cigarette with a Flaming McLaren Exhaust Is Plain Dumb

A few years ago, supercars with flaming exhaust became a thing (we know, history repeats itself) and so more and more high-octane machine owners started showing off their aerodynamic barbecue machines.
The tuning world didn't spend too much time figuring out how to take advantage of this, with tons of custom exhaust systems that allow supercars to deliver fiery stunts showing up.

Nevertheless, you don't need a custom exhaust to make your supercar or sportscar shoot flames. When the exhaust gets hot enough, say after a 20-minute hooning session, any amount of unburned fuel that ends up in there will turn into a flame.

Many production cars are ready to put on such a show and, as we found out during our review, the McLaren 12C is one of them. Nevertheless, now that the world has gotten used to such attention-grabbing tricks, it seems those looking for online fame have gone searching for new ways to achieve their goal.

Some of their actions are more intelligent than others, with the shenanigan in the video below being the perfect example for stunts that are best avoided. We're dealing with a guy who decides to use a Woking supercar as a cigarette lighter.

Standing between a pair of flaming 12C in Monaco, the guy gets a light-it-up suggestion from a bystander and instantly decides to play along.

P.S.: Some owners are dumb enough to rev their engines in a parking lot for minutes, all in the quest to determine their cars to spit flames. For instance, this Porsche owner did just that with his 911. Not only did the move put a massive amount of stress on the flat-six at the back of the car, but it also led to the custom exhaust of the Neunelfer cathing fire. Do we need to add the "do not try this at home" disclaimer?
