Normally, a lowly Ferrari V8 supercar isn't supposed to be more interesting than the Lamborghini Reventon, which is very rare and unique. However, this 458 Spider takes the cake. It's just absurdly hot and overshadows the old V12 Lambo in the background.
Ferrari will probably not approve of us saying this, but this Liberty Walk 458 is way cooler than anything they've rolled out the factory door in the past couple of years. Thanks to the now famous Japanese tuning package, it's as wide as a Hummer, yet it crapes along the ground like a mower looking for grass. That part is thanks to lowride custom suspension from Airrex.
As the widebody prancing pony is sitting in the showroom of Canadian auto show SR Auto Group, we couldn't help notice the wheels. These are deep-dish PUR alloys finished in a bright red color that combines the candy apple look with brushed aluminum.
Matching that, the interior is a sea of slightly ostentatious red leather, stretching from the windshield pillars to the humps behind the seats. Though we'd wager the upholstery is put together by Ferrari, not the tuning specialists.
Liberty Walk is a company that's now synonymous with the widebody kit. It was founded many years ago in Japan by Wataru Kato. Over the years, their products have increased in scope from Silvias and GT-R to include the most popular Italian supercars, including the 458 and the Lamborghini Aventador.
At this year's SEMA show, another widebody Ferrari 458, a blue coupe, was crashed into by a custom Jeep. Check that story out if you need a fix of cracking fiberglass and lunacy.
