For years, the Ferrari tuning scene wondered between offering nothing at all and going Mansory-crazy. However, Liberty Walk is clearly taking over and even though these transformations are serious business, we enjoy seeing each and every one.
Ferrari once told us that they aren't going to reveal their production numbers for the 458 until production ends. We think it's easily over 15,000 units (all versions taken into account), which would make this their most successful car by far.
The problem with that is everybody ends up with the same V8 supercar. You could add some custom wheels and exhaust, but why not go berserk with a Liberty Walk body kit?
It could only come from Japan, the only country to built a statue of a fictional giant robot. People over there don't hold anything made in Maranello as "sacred" so Kato Wataru and his gang set about slicing and dicing the 458.
These changes are quite drastic, as they require you to cut large sections of the factory fenders and screw these flared inserts into place. Still, the bold and the brave are rewarded with a special 458 that draws huge crowds wherever it goes.
This particular project is more extreme than most, since it also features a carbon fiber front splitter. When the air ride suspension is at its lowest setting, it scrapes along the ground like a pig's belly while the 20x12-inch PUR LG08 wheels hug the wheel arches tightly.
This isn't the same Ferrari that set a lap record on the Fiorano track or impressed everybody with its timeless design. But it's still the one that packs an impressive V8 engine and the exotic nature of a Russian ballerina. It's just that the ballerina can also twirk like Nicki Minaj.
