Liberty Walk Audi R8 Is a Tuning World First, Looks Wilder than a Lamborghini

How do you make an Audi R8 look more extreme than its Lamborghini cousin? Before we answer your question, we have to explain this is a first-generation R8, which means the Raging Bull in question has to be a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Such a task obviously has to be accomplished with the help of the tuning world, as not even the most extreme factory incarnation of the Audi, the GT, can come close to a Raging Bull in terms of appearance.

Then again, we have just the right aftermarket treatment for such a task, namely the world’s first Liberty Walk kit on an Audi R8. To our eyes, this widebody machine is a more extreme presence compared to the Lamborghini Gallardo.

While the extreme body parts come from the Japanese tuner, the build has been taken care of by Maryland-based Auto Performance Aesthetics Centre.

The kit includes the traditional fat fenders with visible screws, meaner side skirts, a front splitter, a rear “tail,” as well as a carbon fiber diffuser. We have to mention we're not exactly surprised to see the Liberty Walk kit making its way onto an R8 and that's because the Japanese tuner's popularity has been on the rise over the last few years.

Like many supercars that receive such kits, this R8 was also gifted with an air suspension, so don’t take that ground clearance you can see in the video below for a standard value.

Most Liberty Walk cars also pack custom exhaust systems, and while the video below does allow us to listen to this R8, we only get idling episodes, which means we can’t be sure of this.

The Audi was recently present at a pre-SEMA meet and we’ll get to see the thing in all its splendor at the Las Vegas event. The SEMA show is scheduled to be held between November 3 and November 6, so at least we won’t have to wait for too long.
