Lexus Working on NX Small Crossover Hybrid

Toyota’s luxury division Lexus will hit us with a new small crossover that will probably be seen at next year’s Geneva Motor Show. Going by the NX name, the car will be competing in the same class as the BMW’s X1 and Audi’s Q3 models.

According to a Japanese publication, Lexus’ first small SUV will be based on Toyota’s RAV4 platform and it could get the same hybrid drivetrain from the Lexus IS 300h model, getting an average 4.1 l/100 km (56.4 mpg US / 67.8 mpg UK) fuel consumption.

The NX model will bear the same “spindle design” front end, while moving towards the back, you will see more Lexus design signatures, including the lower side line that is continued upwards to the rear end, reuniting with the angled tail lamps.

Rumors are that the hybrid Lexus NX will go on sale with a price tag of about €30,300 ($40,000 / £26.200 ).
