Scheduled to launch in the second half of 2014, the all new Lexus RC sports coupe just got unveiled at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show.
Delivering a sporty design and engaging driving experience, the new Lexus coupe will come in two flavors for now - RC 350 and RC 300h, the big V8 version probably arriving later.

The dynamic styling of the RC is determined by a low-set wide stance, with a sporty side profile and overhanging wheel flares for a more aggressive look. The coupe also incorporates specific brand design elements, like the iconic spindle grille, three-in-one independent LED headlights, and evolved version of the L-shaped rear lamps as well as the recently introduced L-shaped daytime running lights. It can also be fitted with newly developed wheels available in 18- or 19-inch sizes, while the all new red body color gives a stunning sensuous nuance to the vehicle’s contoured surfaces.

The sporty and refined interior is characterized by a horizontally accented instrument panel and a wrap-around driver’s seat layout, while contrasting textures, such as padded surfaces and wood-grain and metallic ornamentation, create an interior that is truly worthy of a luxury coupe.

Based on the GS platform, the RC measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,395 height and 1,840 in width. The wide tread and the 70 mm shorter wheelbase that the IS’ further highlight the sporty design and nimble handling.

There are two powertrains available for now: a powerful 3.5-liter gasoline unit developing 318 PS and 380 Nm mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, as well as a 2.5-liter hybrid plant making a combined 220 PS and 300 Nm of torque connected to an e-CVT.
