Lexus Tries to Set New Nurburgring Record with LFA AD-X

Last week, Lexus had rented out the whole Nurburgring track for one ‘banzai’ attempt to set a new record time. Ten minutes was all they got, enough for only a single lap of the track.
Currently, the official Lexus LFA record is at 7:14, set back in September last year by a car equipped with the Nurburgring Edition package.
The new LFA they used is the AD-X we showed you in our spyshots section recently. The automaker has basically denied the existence of the AD-A and AD-B, calling them test platforms. However, they are much to well thought out to be that.

This latest car, the AD-X features red wheels and stripes on a white body, much like a Porshe 911 GT3 RS. It’s also got a huge wing at the back, a carbon fiber diffuser and small winglets.

This video was shot by Bridge to Gantry and barely shows the LFA AD-X as it flies by at blistering speed. However, if the really broke the record, a press announcement is imminent.
