Just a few hours ago, Lexus dropped the V8-bomb, finally admitting they have ambitious plans for the letter F. That letter will come back with a vengeance at next year’s Detroit Auto Show. A sexy two-door body, more power and new looks – voila, we have the RC F.
That car could reinvent the Lexus brand, but some people liked it just the way it was, the brand that is. Some people, as crazy as this might sound, liked the Supra-derived models, they treasured the originality and quirkiness. These people liked the SC, with its convertible metal roof.
Well, the old Lexus SC customers are probably a little old now, but regardless, a convertible would be good to have. This rendering shows exactly what the RC Cabrio needs to be: classy metal roof, bold but elegant exterior and the round engine soundtrack.
It’s too early to say if BMW’s 4 Series has anything to worry about. Certainly, anybody who’s felt the smoothness of the a straight-six turbo knows it’s hard to top. But not everybody wants a BMW.
