We’ll cut the chase and start with the RC coupe, which can be had in four versions, all powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 naturally aspirated engine making 306 hp at 6,400 rpm and mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox sending the power to either the rear or all the wheels.

The basic RC 350 rear-wheel-drive version starts at $42,790 and comes with SmartAccess and push-button Start/Stop, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, genuine wood and NuLuxe interior trimmings, 10-way powered driver seat and 8-way front passenger powered seat, 10-speaker audio system and backup camera.

For the all-wheel-drive version you’ll need to add about 3 grand more as it’s offered at $45,025. It comes with the same standard features, reaches 0 to 60 in the exact same 6 seconds as the RWD and averages 1 mpg less, so unless you drive a lot on slippery roads, it doesn’t really make any sense to grab the AWD.

Instead, you can spend $9,938 on the F Sport package which adds navigation, the Mark Levinson 17-speaker 835-watt surround sound system, LED foglamps, power moonroof, parking assist, a rear lip spoiler, the fully meshed front bumper, tuned suspension, different 19-inch rims, LFA-inspired digital instrumentation, aluminum pedals an more.

Performance RC F

Top of the range Lexus RC F starts at $62,400, coming with LED headlamps and daytime running lights, Smart Access with push-button Start/Stop, paddle shifters, frameless rearview mirror, backup camera and pretty much everything else found on the RC.

The differences can be found under the skin where a newly-developed 5-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine cranks 467 hp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox which pushes the coupe from 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds.

Several packages are available as well, with the most important being the $4,400 Premium Package. which adds those cool LED L-shaped headlamp clusters, heated/ventilated front seats, blind spot monitoring, carbon fiber interior trimmings, automatic wipers, electrochromic mirrors, memory seats and more.
