Lexus RC 350’s Super Bowl Commercial Is the Best, Says KBB

Sometimes, simple is better and it looks to be the case made by Lexus with its Super Bowl RC 350 commercial recently, managing to increase far more interest than any other similar campaign from its competitors. At least that’s what happens on Kelley Blue Book’s (KBB) website...

According to the peeps over at KBB, the Lexus RC 350 increased with 1,820 percent in new-car searches on their website after the ad was broadcasted during the Super Bowl XLIX. That is in top position, followed closely by the BMW i3 with 1,131 percent and Mercedes AMG GT with 950 percent.

"Lexus used its new performance car's name, the RC 350, to inspire a commercial with playful themes and engaging visual appeal.  The automotive ballet between real and remote-controlled Lexus coupes drove the largest increase in model-level activity at KBB.com," said Karl Brauer, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com.

The ad, which you can see in the video below, features a remotely controlled Lexus RC coupe doing some whacky sliding parking jobs after which the real deal comes into the scenery, at first via a forced perspective shot, and starts doing the same thing. Neat, simple and effective, considering how much money Mercedes spent with all that computer graphic imagery.

It’s pretty sad to see the Toyota Camry in the last place, only with a 20% interest increase, despite all the drama in its commercials. The Lexus NX is close by with 48 percent which puts it just one step above.

From a brand perspective, Kia tops the charts with 68 percent, followed by Dodge with 62 percent and Fiat registering a 52 percent interest increase after the commercials airing.
