As you might already know, the NX will be available in two versions - a turbo 200t and a hybrid 300h, both being offered with either front- or all-wheel drive systems and automatic gearboxes.

The entry-level Lexus NX 200t with FWD starts at $34,480 and is powered by a newly-developed 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Power output is rated at 234 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and the whole setup is said to return a fuel consumption of 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

An optional all-wheel-drive system is available if you’re willing to pay $35,880, but you should know it’s not permanently linked to the drivetrain and it will bring the city fuel consumption down to 21 mpg.

Electricity at the back

Switching to a more eco-friendly version of the NX, the 300h hybrid with front traction costs $39,720. Power comes from a combination of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor summing up to 194 hp with a fuel consumption of 35 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.

You can tick mark the AWD option here as well for $41,310 which adds a secondary electric motor at the back to kick in when more power needs to be distributed there. In this form, fuel consumption gets rated at 33 mpg around the city and 30 mpg on the open roads.

Both models are expected to arrive in dealerships on November 18th and 26th, depending on what coast you’re living accordingly. The only missing info here is related to the NX F Sport version which adds the fully-meshed grille, tuned suspension and steering, paddle shifters, Mark Levinson audio system and a few other visual updates, but that’s soon to follow as we’re closing in to the sales dates.

Not as well equipped in standard trim but definitely the looker

Pit the NX against it’s main rival, the BMW X3, and you’ll discover it’s about 4 grand cheaper, with the basic version of the X3 being offered for $38,400. The latter cranks 240 hp going towards the rear and comes with standard leather steering wheel, keyless start and entry, electrochromic rear view mirror, remote trunk release, rear privacy glass, dual zone AC, power driver seat with memory, fog lamps,Bluetooth connectivity, electric mirrors, cruise control, auto headlights and wipers and remote engine start.

The base NX on the other hand comes with standard leatherette seats, remote keyless entry, cruise control, electric power steering, dual zone climate control, electric mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity, emergency braking assist, LED daytime running lights and more along with the segment’s most striking looks.
