That little giveaway in Lexus’ release regarding some of the features found on the new NX made us think the turbo version is just around a corner and will eventually surface. It did and here it is... the Lexus NX 200t.
The NX 200t here in the photos also wears the F Sport pack which adds the fully meshed spindle grille, different rims, chrome exhaust tips and a red/black interior theme.

So despite the LF-NX Turbo concept being slightly different than the standard concept, the one here looks exactly like the NX 300h F Sport we saw earlier, except for the badge at the back reading “NX 200t”.

Under the hood, you’ll find Lexus’ new 2-liter turbocharged engine using the new VVT-iW technology. This works by modifying the valves’ movement making the engine work using the Atkinson cycle at low speeds for greater efficiency while at high speeds it returns to the normal Otto cycle for more power and increased throttle response.

It’s the same technique used for the new RC F but this one is also aided by a twin-scroll turbocharger. The exact amount of power the 2-liter does is still unknown, but word is it makes over 200 hp.

The 2-liter turbo will be mated to an updated six-speed ECT automatic transmission, which Lexus says it was reengineered for linear acceleration and smoother transfer of power.
