Lexus LX Receives the F-Sport Makeover, but Only in the Digital World

Alright, before we go into the discussion about the photo you see above, allow us to open the conversation by saying that Lexus' F high-performance division was never created for the brand's SUVs.
However, that rule means nothing in Pixel Land, where designers can do pretty much all they want using their digital scalpel. Let's take the Lexus LX F you see above, for example.

The SUV was revealed this month at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California and Lexus said their designers "left barely any surface of the LX 570 untouched in a sweeping upgrade for 2016, with only door panels carried over from 2015."

Well, that might be true, but we're sure they didn't see an F-Sport version coming. X-Tomi Design, however, had another idea, so that's the main reason behind the image in question.

In theory, a potential Lexus LX F would have to battle the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG or BMW X5 M, but in practice, we don't see Lexus building it for a simple reason: they don't need such a model as the LX is fine the way it is right now.

I mean, under the LX 570's hood roars a humongous 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 383 horsepower and delivers 90 percent of its 403 lb-ft (546 Nm) peak torque at 3,600 rpm, so clients can't complain about the lack of resources in this department.

Furthermore, the behemoth wants to set a standard in comfort, whereas an LX F version would throw that plan into turmoil.

But don't take our word for it, just consider the SUV's cabin, which offers a 12.3-inch display with Remote Touch Interface, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and other similar amenities.

Would the interior look good with carbon fiber trim? Maybe, but we think clients would immediately lose their interest in the SUV. In any case, the sportier exterior package applied by the designer is a love-hate affair, but that blue color sure looks good on the LX.
