Lexus LFA Gets Tumi Custom Luggage

Lexus’s supercar, the LFA offers much more than what can be seen on paper, as the vehicle comes with an exclusivity aura that is aimed at offering that “all-special” feeling to its owners.

The vehicle’s exquisite experience has just got a little bit richer, as Lexus has established a partnership with Tumi for the development of a premium line of travel cases that are tailor-made for the LFA.

The travel cases are designed to complement the look and the feel of the vehicle and will accompany it in selected markets, including the U.S. and Europe. Each bag will wear the corresponding vehicle’s identification number (VIN).

The cases are built from aluminum and carbon fiber-like material, having special sizes that allow them to be placed in the car’s luggage compartment.

The kit consists of two pieces. The first one is a smaller “concourse” one that has been created to fit the essentials for track racing or items for a quick getaway. The larger “coastal” one has been created for longer trips. Each piece offers an asymmetrical retractable handle and shoulder strap, as well as non-skid feet, which hold the luggage in place while the vehicle is traveling.

"The LFA's unparalleled, hand-built quality dovetails with Tumi's dedication to creating excellence," said Dave Nordstrom, Lexus vice president of marketing. "The custom luggage enhances the LFA experience and demonstrates Lexus' dedication to making each encounter with the brand memorable."

"Like Lexus, Tumi has exceptional brand heritage in performance and function, and the highest level of excellence in design," said Jerome Griffith, president and chief executive officer for Tumi.
