Lexus LF-Gh Concept Teased Ahead of NYIAS 2011 Debut

With this year’s New York Auto Show set to open its doors two weeks from now, Toyota’s luxury brand, Lexus, decided to arouse interest on a new hybrid concept that will debut at the event. The company has released two teaser images of the concept, while saying that it is aimed at moving the brand toward a "global design identity."

Dubbed LF-Gh (Lexus Future Grand Touring Hybrid), the concept is expected to serve as a hint towards the styling direction for the next-generation Lexus GS. The automaker also pointed out the fact that the front grille of the concept "hints at the new face of Lexus vehicles".

As you can see in the adjacent images, the two photos released by the automaker only show partial views of the concept. The first photo is a rear three quarter that reveals sharp, angular lines and a vertical slit that starts at the lower edge of the taillight down to the bumper.

On the other hand, the second photo offers a view of the headlight, which appears to be three clusters of LED lights, and a slight view of the grill, which Lexus describes as “spindle” styling that may make it to future vehicles.

"The LF-Gh, which stands for Lexus Future Grand Touring Hybrid, sets out to redefine the premium grand touring sedan," Lexus said in a statement. “Through this exercise, the definition of L-Finesse, the marque’s design philosophy since 2001, has been refined and evolved to include a bolder, more distinct projection of what a luxury car could become in a modern world. The result is the LF-Gh concept, which conveys original thoughts and ideas that may migrate to future Lexus vehicles on a global scale.”
