After its last year debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, Lexus LF-C2 concept was displayed in Geneva. Now, we all know what stir Lexus managed to cause with the prototype’s looks but could this become a production model?
Since Lexus went through all the trouble of bringing the LF-C2 convertible concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, we could say that the Japanese have big plans with their creation.
In fact, we might be looking at the future Lexus RC convertible and even more, Lexus could come up with a sportier RC F cabrio that will make sure BMW M4 convertible will not live an easy life.
As we know already, the sharp lines of the Lexus LF-C2 concept are a trait inherited from the RC F, but augmented so that they look capable of cutting everything (and everyone) getting too close to the car.
But if we listen to what Japanese officials have to say, things get a new meaning: “we’ve been instinctively drawn to and inspired by those things that capture the beauty of light. When you put something in the right light, people see it in a way they never have before,” said Yasuo Kajino, chief designer LF-C2, Lexus Design Division.
On that note, we found out that the golden yellow tone (that looks ready to attract heavy-pocketed customers) is produced by a multi-layer process: a primer, a silver coat, the yellow coat that reflects off the silver and a final protection coat.
The inside of the 2+2 roadster is keeping things elegant and sleek, while exterior dimensions are also pointing at a future production model - the LF-C2 concept is 4,715 mm (185.6 in) long, 1,840 mm (72.4 in) wide and 1,385 mm (54.5 in) tall.
