Remember the Lexus LF-LC (Lexus Future-Luxury Coupe) concept premiered at the 2012 NAIAS? We certainly do, but this is not the point here.

What we have to tell you is that according to an Australian publication, Lexus confirmed that it will morph the LF-LC into a production version, despite rumors about such a decision have been going on for the last couple of years.

Since the Lexus LFA's production was done and over with, the Japanese brand's range lacked a certain appeal and spice. However, that is bound to change. According to Motoring, Lexus confirmed production plans for the LC coupé.

You could argue things have escalated quickly from last week when Automobile Mag claimed the 2017 Lexus LF-LC could Pack 600+ HP in a sportier 'F' version. Of course, that was pure speculation just as the rumor that a potential series LF-LC would be an alternative to the 500-unit limited Lexus LFA supercar.

Motoring's report says Lexus insiders have finished work on a production version derived from the LF-LC prototype.

The same source goes further and argues the new vehicle will feature a slightly gentle design approach compared to the prototype and will host the same V8 as the RC-F coupé, but with boosted performance figures: the LC500 variant will develop around 475 HP will the hybrid ego would offer over 550 HP.

It's also worth noted that Lexus officials have said in the past that if the LF-LC happens, the car will be more "regular" and less "carbon fiber embroidered." We still think it's too early to go out and speculate things, especially since rumors suggest the Lexus LF-LC / LC should arrive late 2016 as a 2017MY.
