Lexus IS 350 “Has Multiple Track Personalities” - Torque News

The new Lexus IS comes in both front- and all-wheel-drive, so you should choose wisely which one to have.

Apart from the integral drive system, the AWD has same-sized tires for both axles, which translates in more grip, especially on snow. On the other hand, the RWD has the better 8-speed transmission and an aggressive locking torque converter, which helps more with acceleration and going sideways.

The guys over at Torque News have tested both versions of the 2014 Lexus IS and found out how different they feel, suggesting that the RWD is more fun on the track. They are also among the few reviewers that believe this new sports sedan doesn’t need any more power. But that is a more subjective point of view.
