After we’ve seen what Toyota plans to do with the Prius and Yaris, it’s time to have a look what next-door Lexus is preparing in the shed.
Apart from the cool RC coupe and GS F that are in the chamber, Lexus plans to replace the truck-based GX SUV with something else... something a bit smaller and sleeker.

After the facelift treatment that will be applied to the GX for 2014, with the trapezoidal spindle design and more telematics, the body on chassis SUV will go extinct in the fall of 2016.

It’s place will be taken by a sleeker car-based 7-seater crossover TX. This new model will probably be based on the HPX concept unveiled about 10 years ago, which you can see in the adjacent photo. The automaker has already applied for a trademark TX nameplate and the car is expected to arrive in late 2016 or 2017.
