When BMW reveals an M Sport body kit for the 3-Series or 6-Series, you know that a true M model is coming as well, but when Lexus puts F Sport parts on the table... not so much.
The Lexus GS-F is probably one of the most enduring rumors in the auto world, and it might actually become a reality if the report from AutoCar proves to be accurate. The Japanese luxury automaker’s roduct planning chief Karl Schlicht says this performance saloon will become a reality, rivaling the likes of the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG.
“With a GS-F, we would have a solid pyramid structure of performance models,” said Schlicht.
The GS-F will reportedly be powered by a detuned version of the 4.8-liter V10 in the LFA, with about 100 less hp and displacing only 4.6-liters.
That sounds a bit strange, since the rivals mentioned by AutoCar, the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG, both have turbocharged V8s with over 500 horsepower. What’s more, the IS-F, which is an M3 rival, already has a 5.0-liter V8.
