What is F? Well, apart from being the first letter in that word many consider offensive, Lexus managed to give it another meaning. The Japanese luxury automaker managed to associate ‘F’ with ‘performance’ and create a whole lineup of vehicles bearing a tiny ‘F’ letter that means a lot for the driver.
The F Marque division produces Lexus' highest-performance vehicles and the name refers to Flagship and the Fuji Speedway circuit in Japan, whose first corner inspired the badge’s shape - a stylized F letter almost looking like a gun.
As Lexus says, this one letter summons three forms of exhilaration - F Vehicles (racing beasts disguised as road legal vehicles), F Sport (represented by stock vehicles with improved handling and bolder design) and F Sport Accessories (direct-replacement parts for enhanced performance and styling).
The true F vehicles are currently represented by the LFA supercar, the outgoing generation IS F performance sedan and the newly born RC F performance coupe, each being extensively engineered to offer top performance for their class while still providing comfort and every day usability.
In the meantime, the experience-enhancing F Sport pack can be had on almost every other car in Lexus’ lineup, such as the LS, GS, IS, IS C, CT, RX and even RC.
