If fuel efficiency and luxury is your thing, the Lexus ES 300h might be the car you’re looking for. Or is not?
CarsGuide put the Lexus ES 300h against one of its main rivals, the Jaguar XF 2.2d Luxury, and the surprise is that they both scored the same points.
The 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine in the Jag make for 200 hp, while the 2.5-liter gasoline engine aided by an electric motor in the Lexus totals 205 hp.
The ES comes standard with heated seats all around, rear privacy blinds, sunroof, 15-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and a mouse-controlled 8-inch infotainment system along with others. The XF comes with a 10-speaker audio system, touchscreen sat nav, putting the accent more on dynamics than inside tech.
Driving matters, the Jag is an accurate handler with plenty of steering feel while giving you a confident feeling through the bends. In the Lexus however, silence and tranquility prevails, while it can still match the XF’s performances.
