Gentex's mirror features an LCD that works in conjunction with the video camera mounted at the rear of the vehicle. While the car is in reverse, the auto-dimming mirror lights up thanks to the display that shows what happens at the rear of the car.
“The CT 200h will feature the Gentex RCD mirror on all models sold without a navigation system,” stated Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president. “We are excited to be included on Toyota’s new generation of fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles, and exposing new markets to Gentex products should help drive our continued success.”
Launched in the UK earlier this month, the CT 200h comes equipped with all the usual luxury features the Japanese auto maker has used us to. To be sold in three model grades, SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier, the model features 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a USB port and Aux socket for connecting portable music players, Bluetooth for mobile phone connection and audio streaming, front fog lights, automatic wipers and dark-tinted rear privacy glass.
Prices in the UK start at GBP23,485 and can reach GBP30,635. The top of the range version of the 200h, SE-L Premier, adds several unique options, like LED headlamps, HDD satellite navigation, Remote Touch control and the aforementioned Gentex rear parking monitor.
