Added style and luxury on many of its models got reflected in Lexus’ January sales results, managing to grow about 9 percent compared to the same month in 2013.
Lexus US reported January sales of 17,637 units, representing an 8.8 percent increase on both a daily selling rate and raw-volume basis.
"Our great selling line-up of luxury utility vehicles and another big month from IS combined to give Lexus one of the few nameplate increases for the month of January," said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager.
The biggest sales growth was achieved by the Lexus IS model, which sold 3,048 units last month, representing a 119.9 percent increase from January 2013, on both a DSR and raw-volume basis.
Second comes the GX SUV which scored a sales number of 1,443 units, meaning a 96.9 percent increase over the same month of last year.
The RX crossover SUV was up nearly 4% while the LX fullsize SUV sold 7 percent more units.
