With the launch of the 2014 Lexus IS in Australia fresh in their minds, the local automaker’s subsidiary released a short video as a tribute to the IS sporty sedan that rolled on the Aussie open roads since the first generation.
Australia had a close relationship with the Lexus IS, as Tasmania was chosen for dynamic development and testing of the sedan for its launch on the Aussie market in 1999. The first generation IS also made its debut in motorsport in the Targa Tasmania rally where it astounded the competition.
In 2005, the first Lexus IS was replaced by its second gen successor, that came with a completely new sleeker design, better performances and increased luxury. Now with the 2014 model being released, Lexus made another huge impact with the extraordinary new looks, comfort and sporty capabilities. Moreover, it is the first generation IS that features an optional hybrid powertrain.
