Lexmaul Launches New Opel Astra Bodykit

The paint hasn’t dried yet on the new Opel Astra showcased for the first time at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show and the German tuners at Lexmaul announced they already have a cosmetic and aerodynamics package for it. No engine upgrades though...

So, let’s see what Lexmaul has prepared for giving the new Opel Astra a new look. The first thing that comes to our attention is a new front grille with the Opel logo removed. The grille is in the color of the vehicle, but optionally Lexmaul can supply it in carbon fiber as well.

Furthermore, “the Astra's headlights have been given an almost traditional covering for the „evil eye“.” New spoiler corners have been added, while the side skirts have also been both optically and aerodynamically improved by adding extra corners in front of the rear wheels.

Moving on to the rear side of the new Opel Astra bodykit we see a roof spoiler and a diffuser on the standard skirt, but it can also be upgraded by installing various exhaust systems which include the range-topping four-hole suite. A choice of special Lexmaul rims is available in sizes of 18-inch, 19-inch and 20-inch.

According to Lexmaul, the PPC tuning will be available from the beginning of 2010. Then the new Astra will be able to increase its performance by up to 20% at the press of a button.

However, until the power upgrade will be ready, new Opel Astra owners will have to settle only for the 1.3-, 1.7- and 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel powerplants developing a maximum output of up to 160 horsepower or with the 1.4- and 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol units with a power output of up to 180 horsepower.
