Lewis Hamilton has always had a fetish for public attention and it seems that even when he’s not making any efforts to turn heads, people keep their focus on the British F1 driver.
Sure, Hamilton is over the era when he confused a dogfight with actually bringing his bulldog to the race track. Nevertheless, when you grab yourself a McLaren P1, the attention is guaranteed. You don’t even have to drive it yourself.
As some of you know, the Brit recently added a P1 to his car collection. The manic hybrid was recently driven (by somebody else) around Monaco, with people going crazy over it.
As you can see in the footage below, Hamilton’s Big Mac was nourished at what appears to be the petrol station in the proximity of the harbour. The vehicle was then driven to a parking lot, with spotters chasing it along the way.
That rather hefty ground clearance, at least for a 903 hp (916 PS) machine, means the vehicle lift system is engaged. So the hypercar caused such a stir without even passing 35 MPH (60 KM/H). Well, of course it did. After all, exceeding that would’ve meant breaking the law.
Then again, the machine has plenty of visual treats to offer. Aside from the stunning shade of blue that easily rivals the Mediterranean Sea bordering Monaco, there are plenty of carbon fiber details to admire. Even the McLaren badge on the nose of the P1 uses the wonder material.
Expect to see a similar Lewis Hamilton episode later in the year. However, you’ll be able to replace “McLaren P1” with “Ferrari LaFerrari”. Come to think of it, it’s only natural for the Brit to play hard, given that he works hard - so far he’s dominating the 2015 F1 driver’s championship, having won three out of four races.
