Following his fifth place in Brazil, Lewis managed to steal the world title by a hair and thus become famous overnight. The press on the Isles were quick to crown their champ and even the Queen got in on the act congratulating the young pilot.
But probably the sweetest congratulations came from girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, part of the singing Pussycat Dolls (not the stripping version) who was there by his side to cheer him on, give him a big hug and bathe in champagne with him when it was all done.
The Brit left Brazil without girl but still she sent him Internet messages saying that she misses him and that she's proud of him, thus sparking engagement rumors among all those who know the couple. The press is having a field day with this latest rumor, but Lewis was quick to dismiss such trivialities, despite the fact that Nicole was sporting an engagement band on her finger recently.
Lewis was quoted as saying: “I'm very happy. We're both very happy. I definitely sleep with a big smile on my face. I'm very fortunate not just to have success but I do have the most beautiful woman by my side”.
If it were us Lewis, we wouldn't want to get engaged either, because that would mean getting tied down right now when every woman in the world wants to be in the same room with you (what goes on in that room won't be mentioned here, but you get the idea).
