Lewis Hamilton to Switch Cars with Tony Stewart?

Here's one for the racing fans in Europe and North America alike. Who would do better from these two: a Formula 1 champion driving a NASCAR racer or a breathing legend of the US' stock car racing series at the wheel of a Formula 1 challenger?

And we're not that naive as to think that this question has just popped into our heads this morning, as this is a long-lived conundrum that has worked the minds of millions of fans worldwide. On the one hand, you have the Europeans looking at NASCAR as a series where drivers "only need to know how to steer left", while on the other hand you have Americans thinking "what do you need all that gadgetry and aerodynamics for, when all you have to do is go racing?"

Well, synthetic motor oil giant Mobil 1 decided to play with that in their newest commercial, by putting face to face 2008 F1 champion Lewis Hamilton and 2-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, both pondering the prospect of driving each other's challenger.

From the looks of it, this is only one of more commercials to come from Mobil 1, as the final seconds of it warns us “to be continued.”

We're sure waiting forward to watch the second episode of the commercial, as it will probably give us some actual action on the track. Until then, you can get a glimpse into how F1 and NASCAR drivers think of each other – better said, the cars they drive – nowadays.
