Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button in McLaren's Historic Garage

Let us say first that this is probably the most memorable video posted by McLaren Mercedes F1 Team on their YouTube channel. That being said, we were presented with a rare, one in a millionth chance of getting inside the garage of this historical F1 team, courtesy of the two British champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

The video below shows the two drivers enter the McLaren garage, full of old models that used to win races and championships in the hands of past champions such as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. After poking around in the garage, the two focus on the famous McLaren MP4/4, with whom the 3-time Brazilian champion won the 1988 title of Formula One. The car won an overall 15 out of 16 races that year.

Needless to say, the emotions on the faces of those two are obvious, although from the dialogue between them we'd be inclined to believe Hamilton is much more impressed with the sight of the car. Both take turns in getting inside the cockpit and envision themselves driving around the Monaco track in the late '80s in such a car.

Hamilton does a little “sound” voice while in the car and, when asked by Button is he would jump in the car and drive it around a current F1 circuit for real, said “I think I would just treasure the moment, take my time...”, joking about how a potential dialogue with the pit crew would go via radio.

In this lap,” said Button, impersonating the race engineer. “Sorry, the radio isn't working,” joked Ham.

But anyway, we'll let you enjoy the dialogue and the incredible atmosphere, full of F1 history, inside the McLaren garage.
