Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger Break Up - Official!

Although there were several rumors about a potential split between former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and pop singer Nicole Scherzinger, the news had never been confirmed until now. However, during the course of this weekend, a spokesman representing the two confirmed for the media that they are no longer a couple.

According to the statement issued to the media by the spokesman, both 25-year old Hamilton and 31-year old Scherzinger decided to focus on their careers. While the latter will probably try to sell more albums or focus on a sole career, Hamilton will likely attempt to win a second championship in Formula One.

“They have decided to go their separate ways. They want to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends,” said the statement for the press.

Hamilton met Nicole in 2007, after which the two became practically inseparable in the Formula One paddock. The leading singer of the Pussycat Dolls was a constant presence in the McLaren Mercedes garage through the last 2 seasons of F1, until the first rumors about a potential split appeared in the media prior to last year's Singapore Grand Prix.

Although the split-related rumors appeared in the British tabloids in mid-September, both have kept quiet on the reports. More, Hamilton told the reports in Singapore that all the allegations are “bull****.” At the time, Nicole cancelled her appearance in the first edition of F1 Rocks, which was scheduled prior to the 2009 race at the Marina Bay Circuit, fueling the rumors of a potential split.
