Les Ateliers Ruby Luxury Helmets

Whatever crosses your minds when you think of a combination between science fiction and French luxury, inspired by Steve McQueen, drop it! It is certainly not what Jerome Coste had in mind when he created the Pavillon or Belvedere helmet collections.

For Pavillon, the first collection, Coste kept the retro inspired look, but also brought modern elements to the design features, as bornrich.rog related. The jet helmets don’t have a chinstrap, and can be accessorized with a range of silk scarves.

The other collection, Belvedere, also features an articulated visor to cover the whole face. The motto that guided the designer when creating the Ruby helmets was ‘Life is the most precious thing that you posses. That is why we have made uncompromising choices.”

The helmets are also respecting the safety features needed to protect their bearer, as they are manufactured from carbon fibers, a technology from the aerospace industry, that guarantees a high level of strength with a lightweight structure.

Jerome Coste was inspired by the helmets worn by knights when drawing the Ruby helmet’s rear fin, while the vintage sports cars influenced the steel badge and the claret-coloured lining made of nappa lambskin.

Each Belvedere helmet comes in a traditional red Ruby box with three, interchangeable visors: one transparent, one smoked and one intermediate shade. The visor changing procedure is quite simple. All you have to do is to unscrew the chrome plated buttons that hold the visor in place, then screw them up again. The articulation system also allows you to open the visor in three position.

Les Ateliers Ruby has a series of limited editions helmets, with various artists interpreting the Ruby helmet using their own creative ideas. The helmets are priced between $500-900.
