Leon Cupra Fights Porsche 911 GT3 RS on Nurburgring, Check Engine Light Follows

Just when we were starting to wonder when we could bring you a new racing video illustrating the Ring Wolf idea, we came across the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which shows a tuned SEAT Leon Cupra and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK engaging in a bit of a Nurburgring brawl.

For those of you who haven't been following our Ring Wolf stories, we'll mention these are about hot hatch-wielding drivers who know they way around tracks and like to performance-troll supercar drivers by keeping up or even showing the latter who's (circuit) boss.

However, this Green Hell adventure is different compared to other Ring Wolf episodes we've shown you so far and that's because the Cupra meets a 911 GT3 RS whose driver is on top of the Rennsport game - we're talking about the GetSpeed GT3 RS, a car that has become a familiar sight on the Nordschleife.

The manic hatch is gifted with no less than three cameras, adding a rear-view, as well as a helmet cam on top of the usual dash hardware.

We can see the Neunelfer slowly approaching the Leon from behind, but, once the Porsche ends up tailing the Cupra, it becomes obvious the pass won't be an easy one.

The GT3 RS eventually goes past the SEAT, but this only acts as uber-strong motivation for the Ring Wolf (friends call him Xtilox). A wild chase ensues, with the SEAT driver flying from one vibrator to another in his quest to keep the Porsche in sight.

Unfortunately, the dreaded Check Engine Light (what exact malfunction does it even indicate?) shows up on the dash of the Cupra, ending the chase. Nevertheless, when you massage your SEAT from 290 to 340 hp and push it this hard on the Green Hell, you can expect such episodes to show up.

P.S.: Driving skill and Nurburgring homework aside, in case you're wondering about the kind of tuning setup that allows a Leon Cupra to run with the big boys, you'll find the complete details here.
